Pineapple Ginger Iced Tea
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 2 green tea bags
- 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks (or canned, drained)
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)
- Ice cubes
- Pineapple slices (for garnish)
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Boil the Water:
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Steep the Tea, Pineapple, and Ginger:
- Remove the saucepan from heat and add the green tea bags, pineapple chunks, and grated ginger.
- Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.
- After steeping, remove the tea bags and strain out the pineapple chunks and ginger if desired (leaving them in can add extra flavor).
- Sweeten the Tea:
- While the tea is still warm, add the honey or agave syrup.
- Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.
- Add Lime Juice:
- Stir in the freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Cool the Tea:
- Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.
- Serve the Iced Tea:
- Fill glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the chilled pineapple ginger iced tea over the ice.
- Garnish with pineapple slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.
