Raspberry Mint Iced Tea Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags
- 1 cup fresh raspberries (plus extra for garnish)
- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (plus extra for garnish)
- Lemon slices (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
- Boil the Water:
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Steep the Tea:
- Remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags.
- Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.
- After steeping, remove the tea bags.
- Sweeten the Tea:
- While the tea is still warm, add the honey or agave syrup.
- Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.
- Add Raspberries and Mint:
- Add the fresh raspberries and a handful of fresh mint leaves to the tea mixture.
- Allow the raspberries and mint to steep in the warm tea for about 10 minutes to infuse their flavors.
- Optionally, lightly mash some of the raspberries to release more flavor.
- Add Lemon Juice:
- Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Cool the Tea:
- Add the 4 cups of cold water to the tea mixture to cool it down.
- Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.
- Serve the Iced Tea:
- Fill glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the chilled raspberry mint iced tea over the ice.
- Garnish with extra raspberries, fresh mint leaves, and lemon slices if desired.
